Who Am I
Beth Aitken
I am a counselor in Olney, close to Rockville and Silver Spring, I focus on providing therapy that helps people integrate their mind, soul, and spirit in the process of healing. I offer counseling for a variety of mental health issues including: anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, among others. I also focus on those who have suffered abuse or mistreatment within churches and who are looking to find healing for those hurts.
My Treatment Focus
My focus is to help individuals find their own path towards healing of the mind, soul and spirit, I achieve this by providing a safe therapy space for exploring issues and struggles.
My Therapeutic Orientation
There are many ways to approach counseling and each has a benefit to the client. Although I use a variety of techniques, my prominent technique is Acceptance Commitment Therapy. In this approach, clients learn to accept their feelings as they are and to live by their values. As a Christian counselor, for those who are interested, I help people access their spiritual resources in the process of healing.
